To Do’s continued…..

Yesterday I had a very large TO DO list. It contained things that I enjoyed like staying in my pj’s until 9:00 am. I enjoyed a very large cup of coffee while watching the Summer episode of the new Gilmore Girls “Year in the Life” series on Netflix and I looked forward to a day at home enjoying what I love the most.

Well the day did not go as planned and I did not get to stay home and enjoy what I love most. However I did spend the day with some of the people I love the most.

The TO DO list was not a complete bust.

I finished 1/2 of one barstool using the cow fabric I teased with a couple of days ago. Everyone needs a little cow print in their lives, right? I will post the how to cover your ugly barstool post when I am able to complete the rest

I had already begun gathering supplies to finish the above mentions stools and the rest of my list when my TO DO list turn a hard right turn around 10:00 am. Mom comes in and says that Dad has to go to the Dr. again.

My Dad is sick. He has been for years. It’s a way of life for us. However the last couple of weeks have been more than usual. Dad is not able to eat and he is over the top sick. There was not a lot of notice for the Dr. appt and I promise you, no one wanted to be seen with the likes of me looking the way I did. PJ’d and wrapped in Elmo love. So I waited by the phone.

The Dr. thought Dad had a blood clot so off to the hospital we go.

Blood clot – Yes

Dehydrated – Yes, again

Possible infection – Yes, again

Let me tell you folks. Dr’s appt and juggling medication is a full time job.

Last night he was admitted and this morning as I write, I am dressed and ready to go start my day. Hospital, wedding rehearsal, shop for groceries and staff Christmas party tonight.

My eyes popped open this morning at 3:38am. What in the world.

I rolled over and prayed to sleep. Nope, not having it.

So I prayed.

I prayed for Dad.

I prayed for Dad’s doctors and nurses that will care for him

I prayed for Mom to have the strength she needs to care for Dad when all she really wants to do is lay on the couch because she is in pain herself

I prayed for my poor husband who came home last night from a business trip with a cold, that I am positive I gave to him last week.

I prayed for my kids and my sweet blueberry.

I prayed for me to have the strength and the endurance to juggle all the balls.

Today is my birthday. I am entering my 52nd year on this earth. I want this year to love better. To give more than to receive and for those around me to see Jesus shining through. I have family and friends who love me to the moon and back and I am eternally grateful and excited about this coming year. I am blessed beyond measure.

Let’s do this.

Love,

the girl who is eating pie for breakfast, and doesn’t care.
