When Courtney and Justin got married, Justin brought with him a very ugly solid wood dresser.
When we started planning the nursery, I knew this dresser would be perfect.
My plan it to create a short term changing station so I wanted to leave the top stained. I love painted items, but paint can scratch. No matter how good of a painter you are, there is still a very large chance of the top getting scarred up. We don’t want that happening.
The top was in pretty good shape but it had a few scratches and the color was weak brown.
A little sandpaper and some stain and poof…….good as new.
White is always a good choice. The shell became crisp clean and white.
The drawers were painted the same blue as the walls and the original hardware put back on.
Coming soon: the changing table will be repurposed from a throwaway freestanding changing table, the drawers will be lined with cute blue checked paper and sealed with a coat of modge podge. Cloth baskets will be stored inside the doors to hold the cutest of baby pj’s and other essentials.
There you have it.
Jack has a dressser.
